Why this is its own category

Rough clean during build-out, final clean before turnover. Builders and remodelers across Macon trust the process.

🧹
Consumer Vacuums Fail Here
Household vacuums recirculate fine construction particulates rather than capturing them. HEPA-filtered commercial equipment is the only way to actually remove post-construction dust.
🛠️
Wrong Chemistry Damages Finishes
Standard household cleaners don't cut construction-grade adhesive residue or paint speckles — and the wrong chemistry on new tile grout, fresh paint, or new flooring can cause permanent damage.
🧽
Timing Matters
Cleaning too early (before all trades are done) wastes the clean. Every surface needs a pass — not just visible floors — and new finishes require extra care with chemistry and technique.
🧽
Protecting New Finishes
Fresh paint, new hardwood, new tile grout, and new fixtures all require careful product selection. The wrong cleaner on the wrong surface voids manufacturer warranties and causes visible damage.

Two-pass approach for major projects

🗑️
Bulk Debris Removal
We remove construction waste within reason — loose debris, packaging, cut material scraps. Large haul-out (dumpster-load volume) remains contractor scope; we coordinate the hand-off.
📜
Rough Clean: Floor Sweep
Initial floor sweep and HEPA vacuum to knock down heavy dust before finish trades arrive, so painters and flooring installers work in cleaner conditions.
🌫️
Rough Clean: Dust Control
Light surface wipe-down of rough framing, sills, and ledges so finish work doesn't get contaminated. Keeps the job site in workable condition mid-project.
🪞
Final Clean: Full HEPA Vacuum
Comprehensive HEPA vacuuming of every surface including inside cabinets, drawers, closets, and shelving. Fine dust settles everywhere — we get it all.
Final Clean: Top-to-Bottom Wipe
Every surface wiped from top to bottom — light fixtures, ceiling fans, vents, walls, baseboards, and floors cleaned in sequence so nothing re-contaminates what was already done.
🪟
Final Clean: Windows & Tracks
Interior window cleaning including tracks and frames, which accumulate heavy construction dust and often have paint or caulk overspray that needs careful removal.
🔌
Final Clean: Appliances
All appliances cleaned inside and out — ovens, refrigerators, dishwashers, and microwashers get heavily coated during installation and delivery.
🛠️
Final Clean: Detail Work
Paint speckle removal from floors, glass, and hardware. Adhesive residue removal. Polish on new plumbing fixtures and hardware to remove installation fingerprints and protective film.
💨
Final Clean: HVAC Vents
All supply vents and return registers cleaned of construction dust — drywall compound, sawdust, and insulation fibers collect here and will recirculate through the HVAC system if not removed.
💡
Final Clean: Lighting & Detectors
Fine dust removed from all light fixtures, ceiling fans, smoke detectors, and CO detectors — areas commonly missed that affect air quality and detector function.

Working with your contractor

Best results come from coordinating with your general contractor on timing. Don't have us start work until major construction is truly complete — late finish work creates new dust that has to be cleaned again. Conversely, don't wait too long after completion; settled construction dust gets harder to remove over time.

If your contract with your contractor includes a "broom-clean" final state, that's the baseline we typically work from. We don't replace contractor responsibilities — we deliver the move-in-ready clean that comes after broom-clean.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does post-construction need different cleaning?
Construction dust is fine, sticky, and gets everywhere — including spaces normal cleaning doesn't reach. It contains drywall powder, sawdust, paint particles, and adhesive residues that aren't safely removed by household vacuums (which can spread fine particulates) or standard cleaning chemistry. Specialty equipment (HEPA vacuums) and chemistry remove it without spreading.
How many post-construction cleanings will I need?
Often two passes. The first is a 'rough' clean after major construction is complete but before paint and final finish work — gross debris removal, dust suppression. The second is a 'final' clean after all work is done — detailed dust removal, surface cleaning, and final polish before homeowner move-in or use. Smaller renovations may only need one pass.
Will you handle construction debris removal?
Light debris that fits in standard trash bags, yes. Larger debris (drywall scraps, lumber, fixtures) is typically the contractor's responsibility under their contract. We don't haul construction waste — that's a separate service. Tell us in advance what condition the space will be in when we arrive.
How much does post-construction cleaning cost compared to standard cleaning?
Typically 2-3x the cost of an equivalent standard deep clean for the same space. Reasons: more time required (often 8-12+ hours for whole-home renovations), specialty HEPA equipment, more cleaning supplies consumed, and the specialized work of removing construction-grade dirt without damaging new finishes.
