Working with your contractor

Best results come from coordinating with your general contractor on timing. Don't have us start work until major construction is truly complete — late finish work creates new dust that has to be cleaned again. Conversely, don't wait too long after completion; settled construction dust gets harder to remove over time.

If your contract with your contractor includes a "broom-clean" final state, that's the baseline we typically work from. We don't replace contractor responsibilities — we deliver the move-in-ready clean that comes after broom-clean.

Why does post-construction need different cleaning?

Construction dust is fine, sticky, and gets everywhere — including spaces normal cleaning doesn't reach. It contains drywall powder, sawdust, paint particles, and adhesive residues that aren't safely removed by household vacuums (which can spread fine particulates) or standard cleaning chemistry. Specialty equipment (HEPA vacuums) and chemistry remove it without spreading.

How many post-construction cleanings will I need?

Often two passes. The first is a 'rough' clean after major construction is complete but before paint and final finish work — gross debris removal, dust suppression. The second is a 'final' clean after all work is done — detailed dust removal, surface cleaning, and final polish before homeowner move-in or use. Smaller renovations may only need one pass.

Will you handle construction debris removal?

Light debris that fits in standard trash bags, yes. Larger debris (drywall scraps, lumber, fixtures) is typically the contractor's responsibility under their contract. We don't haul construction waste — that's a separate service. Tell us in advance what condition the space will be in when we arrive.

How much does post-construction cleaning cost compared to standard cleaning?

Typically 2-3x the cost of an equivalent standard deep clean for the same space. Reasons: more time required (often 8-12+ hours for whole-home renovations), specialty HEPA equipment, more cleaning supplies consumed, and the specialized work of removing construction-grade dirt without damaging new finishes.
